2026 NCAB Seminar Registration: Thursday Only
This workshop offers essential guidance directly from AAALAC International and will walk participants through the accreditation process, including the application, the site visit components, frequently observed strengths and deficiencies, and provide actionable strategies for effective preparation and staff engagement. Attendees will gain insight into how site visitors approach their evaluations, how best to showcase institutional practices, and how to foster a positive, transparent dialogue during the visit. Interactive elements, real-world examples, and ample time for Q&A will ensure that attendees leave with a solid understanding of the application, site visit, and the broader goals of the accreditation process.
This workshop encompasses a series of lectures relating to swine in research. The following topics will be covered: Anesthesia/Analgesia, Catheter and Device Implantation, Perioperative Care Procedures, Behavior, and Cardiac Emergencies, Comparative Anatomy and Models.
This interactive workshop will provide participants with a practical understanding of compassion fatigue, including its signs, symptoms, contributing factors, and impact on individuals and lab animal teams. Participants will explore the concept of compassion resiliency - the ability to maintain empathy, purpose, and professional effectiveness while navigating the emotional challenges of caregiving. Evidence-informed strategies for strengthening resiliency will be presented, including self-care practices, boundary setting, communication techniques, stress management, and the development of supportive professional networks.
Through facilitated discussions, reflective exercises, and collaborative learning, attendees will examine real-world experiences and identify actionable approaches for promoting personal and organizational well-being. Participants will work in small groups to develop a personalized Compassion Resiliency Action Plan that can be implemented in their professional and personal lives. By the conclusion of the workshop, participants will leave with practical tools, resources, and strategies to recognize compassion fatigue, cultivate resiliency, support colleagues, and foster healthier workplaces.
Think about your current team. Are they focused on achieving big goals, or are they getting slowed down by misunderstandings, friction, and delayed projects? Many leaders assume team conflict is a personality issue, when it is often a mismatch in problem-solving styles. This interactive session gives you a practical blueprint for reducing interpersonal friction, strengthening collaboration, and helping your team tackle big challenges instead of each other.
During this workshop, you will learn how to map your team’s hidden problem-solving profiles and identify who naturally operates as a Clarifier, Ideator, Developer, or Implementer. By understanding these distinct thinking styles, you can pinpoint why your team gets stuck, turn opposing viewpoints into fuel for innovation, and build a more aligned culture focused on delivering meaningful results.
Lunch will be provided from 12-1 pm.
